We still get great turnouts. I think that even though the Buffy & Angel shows are gone folks still come to the Buffy/Angel Meetups because "Buffy" is the main storyline, just as "Star Trek" is the main storyline no matter which of the shows you watch
"We still get great turnouts. I think that even though the Buffy & Angel shows are gone folks still come to the Buffy/Angel Meetups because "Buffy" is the main storyline, just as "Star Trek" is the main storyline no matter which of the shows you watch We started the discussion about the direction "Angel" may go,how disappointed we'll be that a naked Spike doesn't fall from a vortex like Angel did in "Faith, Hope and Trick", then got into past Buffy episodes. Mike (of Mike and Sandra) is into role-playing and explained how that works. AKABecker regaled us with stories from when he worked for "Angel" plus from the Bronze webgroup. We then slipped into Farscape, then politics (governor's recall election), sideways slide back into Buffy by discussing a fan-based 1-day convention called Buffyfest www.buffyfest.com which will be held on Saturday, October 11th in San Diego. As I paid for the Meetup+ membership I asked for venue recommendations for next time. I was given 3 ideas and will post them for the next meet, in September. Since people came from all around Los Angeles and the San Fernando Valley we'll keep the venues close to the 405 & 101 freeways. Borders had the audacity to close for the night at 11 pm so we all said goodnight, some folks stayed and talked in the parking lot, but I, Marsia/the host went on home, listening to my Once More With Feeling CD cranked so loud the cars next to me rocked from the vibrations. Did I say we all had fun?"
The group grows and grows each month with a nice mix of people. Good people, good food, good stories
